Elaine Berkenwald is presently a practitioner focusing on real estate, construction litigation and land use matters. She is also an adjunct professor at Rutgers School of Law. Ms. Berkenwald has forty (40) years of experience representing developers such as Quick Check, PC Richards, and Pulte Homes in a variety of zoning, planning and land use matters. She is fully familiar with state and local land use laws and regulations and has ongoing relationships with licensed planners, engineers and other experts that are so critical to successful land use applications and challenges. Ms. Berkenwald also represents numerous houses of worship including Saint Paul’s Outreach, a Catholic organization, and has expertise in litigating claims arising under the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act. She has represented many municipal boards and is an expert in permitting. Elaine Berkenwald is a cum laude graduate of Brooklyn Law School, and a magna cum laude graduate of the State University of New York. She is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
Ms. Berkenwald’s knowledge, experience, wisdom and pragmatic outlook provide a great environment to the other attorneys and staff in the firm.
In her spare time, Elaine likes to visit with her three grandchildren and take trips to Vermont to ski.
